Mitchell Datz made 25 saves to complete the shutout and led the Waterloo Siskins to a 2-0 win against the Brampton Bombers. Waterloo was paced by Conner Jean, who tallied one goal. Jean scored on the power play 16:11 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Waterloo. The Siskins had taken the advantage when Brampton's Drew Stirling got sent off for high sticking. Nick Hirst provided the assist. Waterloo put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Bombers to score on any of their five power plays. The Siskins forced Brampton goalie Jason Rhynold to work between the pipes, taking 48 shots. Gary Mantz also scored for Waterloo. In addition, Waterloo received assists from Andrew Lane, Nick King, and Lucas Goodman, who contributed one each. The Bombers were held below their usual level of production. Brampton puts an average of 2.9 pucks into the net per game. Waterloo incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Jason Rhynold made 46 saves for the Bombers on 48 shots. Brampton incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. The Bombers ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Patrick Zilak was ejected from the game.
