London survives St. Thomas comeback, wins 4-3

The London Nationals survived a determined comeback attempt by the St. Thomas Stars on the way to a 4-3 win.

London made the score 3-0 on a goal by John Adams at 9:28 in the second period, and St. Thomas got as close as 3-2 when Andrew Chambers scored 7:29 into the third period.

The Nationals kept the Stars' goalie busy throughout the game, and Nikolas Dampier made 41 saves on 45 shots.

London was led by Tyler Sehovic, who registered one goal and one assist. Sehovic scored 19:05 into the third period to make the score 4-3 London. Tanner Ferreira assisted on the tally. Others who scored for London included Austin Kemp and Matt Bean, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for London were Brenden Trottier, who had one and Rai Di Loreto, who had two.

St. Thomas was led by Jake Reed, who finished with one goal and two assists. Reed scored 27 seconds into the third period to make the score 3-1 London. Curtis Ferreira provided the assist. Matt McJannet also scored for St. Thomas. In addition, St. Thomas received assists from Carson Moniz, Ethan Nother, and Carson Brookshaw, who contributed one each.

Connor Hughes rejected 27 shots on goal for the Nationals. London incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. For the Nationals, Callum Ruddock was ejected from the game. The Stars totaled nine minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major and went 1-for-3 on the power play. St. Thomas ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Spencer Hutchinson was ejected from the game.
