Niagara Falls blows out Pelham, 10-1

The Niagara Falls Canucks had a seven-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 10-1 win over the Pelham Panthers.

Matthew Marsden was all over the ice for Niagara Falls, as he tallied one goal and three assists in the win. Marsden scored 10:50 into the second period to make the score 6-0 Niagara Falls. Frank Pucci provided the assist.

The Canucks' penalty kill excelled, as Niagara Falls gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays.

The Canucks forced Panthers' goalies to work between the pipes, finishing with 55 shots and forcing 45 saves. Stephen Harvey made 19 stops and Tyler Caruana made 26. Niagara Falls stifled Pelham's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Canucks found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. Niagara Falls has scored at the pace of 3.9 goals per game during the current campaign. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals. The Canucks were forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as they racked up 34 penalty minutes.

Niagara Falls also got points from Pucci, who also racked up one goal and three assists, Sean Farquharson, who also had one goal and two assists, Thomas Flack, who also registered one goal and one assist, Zack Lansfield, who also had one goal and one assist, Dillon Hill, who also racked up one goal and one assist, and Luke Laurin, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Niagara Falls also got a goal from Austin Bottrell as well. More assists for Niagara Falls came via Kevin Boyd, Matthew Baldinelli, Evan Denley, and Andrew Barbeau, who each chipped in one and Taggart Ledyard and Peter Falivena, who contributed two each.

The Panthers' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Niagara Falls power plays.

Adam Dentico rejected 19 shots on goal for Niagara Falls. For the Canucks, Denley was ejected from the game. Pelham incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Panthers ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Zachary Plumb was ejected from the game.
