Stratford rolls over Waterloo, 5-1Allman Arena Fri, Feb 05, 2016 Story by Narrative Science.
The Stratford Cullitons were firing on all cylinders against the Waterloo Siskins, and when the final buzzer sounded Cullitons emerged with a 5-1 win. Waterloo was stymied by Stratford's netminder Alexander Brooks-Potts, who stopped 25 shots during the victory. Brooks-Potts managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 3.39 prior to the game. The Cullitons were sparked by Deven Kropf, who registered one goal. Kropf scored short handed 13:19 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Stratford. Stratford played down a man on Anthony Kotsovos's fighting (aggressor). The Cullitons stifled the Siskins' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Stratford forced Waterloo goalie Bailey DeGasperis to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots. Stratford additionally got points from Zach Van Louwe, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Stratford also had goals scored by Joe Leahy, Jared Nash, and Rob Grant, who each put in one. In addition, Stratford received assists from Dylan Lebold, Tristan Hohl, and Ken Chisholm, who each chipped in one. The Siskins excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Waterloo did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Siskins put an average of 3.2 pucks into the net per game. Waterloo was led by Anthony Pullicino, who scored the team's only goal. Pullicino scored 19:51 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Stratford. Matt Bourbeau picked up the assist. The Cullitons ended with 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors and two majors. For Stratford, Kotsovos and Zander Pryor were ejected from the contest. DeGasperis rejected 26 shots on goal for the Siskins. Waterloo totaled 23 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 0-for-5 on the power play. Team's Joel Penticost and Nate Schnarr were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
