St. Thomas survives Lambton Shores comeback, wins 4-2

The St. Thomas Stars survived a determined comeback attempt by the Lambton Shores Predators on the way to a 4-2 win.

St. Thomas made the score 4-1 on a goal by Cal Horvat at 6:46 in the third period, and Lambton Shores got as close as 4-2 when Ethan Sarfati scored 18:11 into the third period.

The Stars were paced by Adam Truax, who had one goal. Truax scored 4:03 into the third period to make the score 3-1 St. Thomas. Carson Esipu provided the assist.

St. Thomas stifled the Predators' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Stars kept Lambton Shores' goalie busy throughout the game, and Keegan Paulette made 41 saves on 45 shots.

St. Thomas also had goals scored by Spencer Hutchinson and Lucas Mastroianni, who scored one goal each. More assists for St. Thomas came via Carson Moniz, James Newland, Adam Keyes, Ethan Nother, and Andrew Chambers, who contributed one each.

St. Thomas was unable to stop the Predators from sending pucks towards the net, and Lambton Shores eventually piled up 45 shots on goal.

The Predators were led by Andrew Kim, who registered one goal and one assist. Kim scored 16:58 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Christian Athanasiou assisted on the tally. In addition, Lambton Shores received assists from Carson Pearce and Ben Woo, who each chipped in one.

Nikolas Dampier recorded 43 saves for the Stars. St. Thomas incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Lambton Shores incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
