Waterloo rips Brampton, 5-1Victoria Park Arena Fri, Jan 29, 2016 Story by Narrative Science.
The Waterloo Siskins had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 5-1 win over the Brampton Bombers. Brampton was stymied by Waterloo's netminder Bailey DeGasperis, who stopped 34 shots during the victory. The solid play of DeGasperis will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 3.83. The Siskins were paced by Owen Kipke, who racked up one goal. Kipke scored on the power play 12:45 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Waterloo. Waterloo had gotten the advantage when the Bombers' Ramon Lopez was sent off for tripping. Conner Jean provided the assist. The Siskins' offense rang up 41 shots on Brampton's net. Waterloo also got points from Andrew Lane, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Waterloo included Joel Penticost, Austin Bentley, and Brett Schaefer, who scored one goal each. More assists for Waterloo came via Joshua Slegers, Lucas Goodman, Anthony Pullicino, Luke Gazzola, and Matt Bourbeau, who each chipped in one. The Bombers forced Waterloo goalie DeGasperis to work between the pipes, taking 35 shots. In addition, Brampton received assists from Yianni Liarakos and Jordan Oshowy, who contributed one each. The Siskins incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Eric Pitcher rejected 36 shots on goal for Brampton. The Bombers incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
