Thorold blows out Pelham, 6-2

The Pelham Panthers had trouble finding ways to stop the Thorold Blackhawks, which beat Panthers, 6-2.

Thorold was paced by Nick Sacco, who racked up one goal. Sacco scored 28 seconds into the second period to make the score 3-1 Thorold. Anthony Merante assisted on the tally.

The Blackhawks put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Pelham to score on any of its three power plays. The Panthers were unable to stop Thorold from sending pucks towards the net, and the Blackhawks eventually piled up 46 shots on goal. Thorold bested its season scoring average. The Blackhawks have scored at the pace of 2.8 goals per game during the current campaign. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with three goals.

Thorold also got points from Anton Trublin, who also had one goal and two assists and David D`Agostino, who also registered one goal and two assists. Thorold also had goals scored by Jake Lloyd, Rick Eberhart, and Cal Davis, who each put in one. In addition, Thorold received assists from Perth Swick, who had four and Brendan D`Agostino, Griffin Roubos, and Aaron Nunes, who contributed one each.

Pelham was helped by Jeffrey Venzon, who registered one goal. Venzon scored 19:37 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Thorold. Hunter Swain provided the assist. Pelham also got a goal from Adam Petric as well. More assists for Pelham came via Jesse Burger, Riley Hollowell, and Brandon MacKinnon, who each chipped in one.

Thorold's Fraser Kirk stopped 15 shots out of the 17 that he faced. The Blackhawks incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Stephen Harvey rejected 40 shots on goal for the Panthers. Pelham incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
