St. Catharines downs Fort Erie in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

The St. Catharines Falcons pulled out a 4-3 (OT) overtime victory over the Fort Erie Meteors on a clutch goal by Tyler Jackson.

St. Catharines came back from a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Falcons was down 3-1 after a goal by Fort Erie's Holden Garlent at 6:26 in the third period. St. Catharines knotted things up at 3-3 on a goal by Tyler Hildebrandt at 15:40 in the third period.

The Falcons were paced by Jackson, who registered one goal. Jackson scored 1:31 into overtime to make the score 4-3 St. Catharines. Cole Langan assisted on the tally.

St. Catharines' offense rang up 43 shots on the Meteors' net.

St. Catharines also had goals scored by Broderick Kelly and Jake Evans, who each put in one. In addition, St. Catharines received assists from Anthony Postiglione, who had two and Justin Felker, Mitchell Webb, Joel Horodziejczyk, and Brady Lee, who each chipped in one.

Fort Erie managed to stay out of the box better than usual, racking up one minor for two minutes in penalty time. The Meteors ended up below its season average of 21.0 penalty minutes per game. Fort Erie kept the Falcons' goalie busy throughout the game, and Horodziejczyk made 29 saves on 32 shots.

Others who scored for Fort Erie included Ben Evans and Mackenzie Lockyer, who scored one goal each. More assists for Fort Erie came via Dakota Miskolczi, Danial Singer, and Anthony Passero, who contributed one each.

St. Catharines incurred 24 minutes in penalty time with two minors. Brayden Lachance made 39 saves for the Meteors on 43 shots. Fort Erie registered zero goals on two power play opportunities.
