Huge game by Pucci boosts Niagara Falls over Thorold, 6-1

Behind a great game by Frank Pucci, who had two goals and one assist, the Niagara Falls Canucks defeated the Thorold Blackhawks, 6-1.

Pucci's tallies came at 8:52 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Niagara Falls and 15:50 into the second to make the score 2-1 Niagara Falls.

Niagara Falls was led by goalie Adam Dentico, who finished with 26 saves while allowing one goal. Dentico certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 2.65 entering the contest.

The Canucks' offense rang up 38 shots on Thorold's net. Niagara Falls outdid its season average for goals scored. The Canucks average 3.6 goals per game.

Niagara Falls additionally got points from Phillip Chadder, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Zack Lansfield, who also had one goal and two assists, and Luke Laurin, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Peter Falivena also scored for Niagara Falls. Other players who recorded assists for Niagara Falls were Patrick McCabe, who had two and Matthew Marsden, who had three.

The Blackhawks were led by Anton Trublin, who scored the team's only goal. Trublin scored on the power play 14:46 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Thorold had gotten the advantage when Niagara Falls' Sean Farquharson was sent off for hooking. Cal Davis picked up the assist.

The Canucks incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Josh Astorino recorded 32 saves for the Blackhawks. Thorold incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
