Chatham downs Strathroy, 6-2Chatham Memorial Arena Sun, Jan 17, 2016 Story by Narrative Science.
Steven Beenackers grabbed one point to lead the Chatham Maroons to a 6-2 victory over the Strathroy Rockets. Strathroy was unable to stop Chatham from sending pucks towards the net, and the Maroons eventually piled up 36 shots on goal. Chatham also got points from Josh Barraclough, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Blair Derynck, who also registered one goal and one assist. Teddy McGeen also scored for Chatham. More assists for Chatham came via Connor McKinnon, Ryan Fraser, Gus Ford, Connor Koviak, and Ian Faubert, who contributed one each and Chris Corgan and Ross Krieger, who each chipped in two. The Rockets' offense rang up 31 shots on Chatham's net. Strathroy could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 28 minutes in penalties during the game. The Rockets were led by TJ Harris, who finished with one goal. Harris scored on the power play 10:45 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Strathroy had gotten the advantage when the Maroons' Mark Fratarcangelli was sent off for hooking. Shane Bulitka picked up the assist. Strathroy also got a goal from Dillon Saunders as well. Other players who recorded assists for Strathroy were Dalton Good, Turner Balasin, and Max Ewart, who contributed one each. Parker Butler rejected 29 shots on goal for Chatham. The Maroons incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Rockets' Dan Davies stopped 30 shots out of the 36 that he faced. Strathroy registered one goal on three power play opportunities.
