Listowel outlasts Stratford, 4-3

The game between the Listowel Cyclones and the Stratford Cullitons was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Listowel emerged with a 4-3 win.

Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Holdyn Lansink secured the win for the Cyclones with a goal in the third period.

Lansink had a great game for Listowel, netting two goals.

The Cyclones kept Stratford's goalie busy throughout the game, and Alexander Brooks-Potts made 28 saves on 32 shots.

Others who scored for Listowel included Brady Anderson and Ray McFalls, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Listowel were Blake Nichol, Max Coyle, Chayse Herrfort, and Jamie Huber, who contributed one each and Caleb Warren and Tim Nauta, who each chipped in two.

The Cullitons could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 26 minutes in penalties during the game.

Stratford was led by Hayden Broomhead, who racked up two goals. Broomhead scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 11:41 into the second period to make the score 2-2. The Cullitons earned a power play opportunity when Keaton Willis was put in the box for hooking. Jared Nash picked up the assist. Broomhead's next tally on the power play made the score 3-3 with 5:12 left in the third period. Stratford had taken the advantage when Listowel's Austin Huizenga got sent off for tripping. Joe Leahy provided the assist. Stratford also got a goal from Tyson Baker as well. In addition, Stratford received assists from Deven Kropf and Zach Van Louwe, who contributed one each.

The Cyclones' Lukas Samson stopped 21 shots out of the 24 that he faced. Listowel incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Cullitons registered two goals on four power play opportunities.
