The Thorold Blackhawks' griffin roubos scored 1:36 into overtime to beat the Ancaster Avalanche, 3-2 (OT).

Thorold was led by roubos, who racked up one goal.

The Blackhawks' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Ancaster power plays.

Thorold also had goals scored by Anton Trublin and Colin Farrell, who scored one goal each. In addition, Thorold received assists from Greg Christmas, Anthony Merante, David D`Agostino, and Adam Kozlowski, who each chipped in one.

Ancaster managed to stay out of the box better than usual, registering one minor for two minutes in penalty time. The Avalanche ended up below its season average of 18.0 penalty minutes per game. Ancaster forced Thorold goalie Josh Astorino to work between the pipes, taking 46 shots.

The Avalanche were helped by Owen Burnell, who had one goal. Burnell scored 15:26 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Matt Mannella assisted on the tally. Ancaster also got a goal from Jesse Hilton as well. Other players who recorded assists for Ancaster were Ben Hughes, Cole Nagy, and Ryan Knill, who contributed one each.

Astorino recorded 44 saves for the Blackhawks. Thorold incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Ancaster's Cole Ceci stopped 23 shots out of the 26 that he faced.
