Elmira falls to Waterloo in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

The Waterloo Siskins' Nate Schnarr scored 1:51 into overtime to beat the Elmira Sugar Kings, 4-3 (OT).

Schnarr had one goal and two assists to lead Waterloo.

The Siskins' penalty kill excelled, as Waterloo gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays.

The Siskins stifled Elmira's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Waterloo kept the Sugar Kings' goalie busy throughout the game, and Liam Devine made 42 saves on 46 shots.

Others who scored for Waterloo included Gary Mantz, Matt Bourbeau, and Owen Kipke, who each put in one. In addition, Waterloo received assists from Conner Jean, who had two and Joshua Slegers, Nick Hirst, and Thomas Haffner, who each chipped in one.

The Siskins were unable to stop Elmira from sending pucks towards the net, and the Sugar Kings eventually piled up 45 shots on goal.

Elmira was led by Zac Coulter, who had one goal and one assist. Coulter scored 2:10 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Elmira. David Elford picked up the assist. Elmira additionally got points from Elford, who also registered one goal and one assist. Elmira also got a goal from Jeff Jordan as well. More assists for Elmira came via Beau Goehrum, Rob Kohli, Ethan Skinner, and Kalob Witzell, who contributed one each.

Mitchell Datz made 42 saves for Waterloo on 45 shots. The Siskins incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The Sugar Kings incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
