Huge game by McGeen boosts Chatham over St. Marys, 7-1Pyramid Recreation Centre Fri, Jan 08, 2016 Story by Narrative Science.
Teddy McGeen was all over the ice for the Chatham Maroons, as he tallied two goals and one assist in Chatham's 7-1 win over the St. Marys Lincolns. McGeen's tallies came short handed at 6:52 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Chatham and short handed 16:37 into the third to make the score 6-1 Chatham.The Maroons' penalty kill excelled, as Chatham gave up zero goals despite allowing seven power plays. The Maroons stifled St. Marys' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Lincolns were unable to stop Chatham from sending pucks towards the net, and the Maroons eventually piled up 36 shots on goal. Chatham surpassed its usual scoring output this season. The Maroons average 4.5 goals per game. Chatham's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as the Maroons finished with 48 penalty minutes. Chatham additionally got points from Ryan Fraser, who also registered one goal and one assist and Connor Koviak, who also tallied one goal and two assists. Gus Ford also scored for Chatham. More assists for Chatham came via Dede Cato, who had two and Austin Thompson, Steven Beenackers, Ian Faubert, and Cory Bussing, who contributed one each. St. Marys was led by Brennan Stapleton, who scored the team's only goal. Stapleton scored 6:09 into the first period to make the score 1-0 St. Marys. Phillip Buque provided the assist.
