Thorold rips Pelham, 7-2

The Thorold Blackhawks were firing on all cylinders against the Pelham Panthers, and when the final buzzer sounded Blackhawks emerged with a 7-2 win.

Cal Davis was all over the ice for Thorold, as he tallied one goal and two assists in the win. Davis scored short handed 9:44 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Thorold. The Blackhawks found themselves down a man on Rick Eberhart's hooking. Anton Trublin assisted on the tally.

Thorold's offense rang up 54 shots on Pelham's net. The Blackhawks surpassed their usual scoring output this season. Thorold averages 2.7 goals per game. The defensemen of the Blackhawks were also effective in the Panthers' zone, and came away with two goals.

Thorold additionally got points from Trublin, who also racked up one goal and two assists. Thorold also had goals scored by Anthony Postiglione, who had two and Jake Lloyd, Aaron Nunes, and Adam Kozlowski, who scored one goal each. In addition, Thorold received assists from Greg Christmas, Fraser Kirk, and Tyler Sehovic, who contributed one each and Brendan D`Agostino and Francois Plamondon, who each chipped in two.

Pelham put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Thorold to score on any of its three power plays.

The Panthers were helped by Caleb Mussat, who had one goal. Mussat scored on the power play 6:10 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Thorold. Pelham had gotten the advantage when the Blackhawks' Kozlowski was sent off for hooking. Jeffrey Venzon picked up the assist. Pelham also got a goal from Adam Petric as well.

Thorold's Kirk stopped 24 shots out of the 26 that he faced. The Blackhawks incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Stephen Harvey made 47 saves for the Panthers on 54 shots. Pelham incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors.
