Chris Janzen had a standout game with 28 saves, and the Welland Jr. Canadians beat the Thorold Blackhawks 5-1. Welland was led by Jake Shaw, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Shaw scored on the power play 12:02 into the third period to make the score 2-0 Welland. The Jr. Canadians had taken the advantage when Thorold's Tyler Sehovic got sent off for hooking.
