Sinclair leads Caledonia to shutout victory over Fort Erie

Mark Sinclair recorded a shutout against the Fort Erie Meteors as the Caledonia Corvairs picked up a 7-0 win.

Caledonia got the win with help from a great game by Jake Brown, who had one goal and two assists. Brown scored 1:03 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Caledonia. Corey Pawley picked up the assist.

The Corvairs excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in 10 chances. Fort Erie was unable to stop Caledonia from sending pucks towards the net, and the Corvairs eventually piled up 33 shots on goal. Caledonia could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 56 minutes in penalties during the game.

Caledonia additionally got points from Daniel Volpe, who also grabbed two goals and two assists and Matthew Hore, who also had two goals and two assists to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Caledonia included Nick Zottl and Quentin Maksimovich, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Caledonia were Mitchell Fitzmorris, who had two and Jacob Bianchi, Austin Brown, Jordan Brown, and Chadd Bauman, who contributed one each.

The Meteors were held below their usual level of production. Fort Erie puts an average of 3.5 pucks into the net per game.

The Corvairs' Sinclair stopped 25 shots out of the 25 that he faced. Caledonia registered one goal on four power play opportunities. Riley Daniels made 26 saves for the Meteors on 33 shots. Fort Erie incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
