The Welland Jr. Canadians and the Ancaster Avalanche skate to 2-2 (OT) tie

Welland and Ancaster could not settle their match and fought to a 2-2 tie.

The Jr. Canadians were led by Dylan Daigneault, who tallied one goal and one assist. Daigneault scored 18:03 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Nathan Ferris assisted on the tally. Welland also got a goal from Nicholas Boehmer as well. More assists for Welland came via Jake Shaw, who had two.

The Avalanche kept Welland's goalie busy throughout the game, and Brandon McCorriston made 54 saves on 56 shots.

Ancaster was helped by Ryan Cox, who had one goal. Cox scored on the power play 2:37 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Ancaster. A high sticking penalty on Steven Farano had put the Avalanche on the power play. Ben Hughes picked up the assist. Cole Nagy also scored for Ancaster. In addition, Ancaster received assists from Max Balinson, who had one.

The Jr. Canadians incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Ancaster's Cole Ceci stopped 28 shots out of the 30 that he faced. The Avalanche incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors.
