The Brantford 99ers tried their best to erase a three-goal deficit, but the Guelph Hurricanes would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 3-2. Guelph made the score 3-0 on a goal by Alex Ritchie at 16:14 in the second period, and Brantford got as close as 3-2 when Jack Phibbs scored 14:06 into the third period. The Hurricanes' penalty kill excelled, as Guelph gave up one goal despite allowing six power plays. The Hurricanes' offense rang up 38 shots on the 99ers' net.
