The Brantford 99ers tried their best to erase a three-goal deficit, but the Guelph Hurricanes would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 3-2.

Guelph made the score 3-0 on a goal by Alex Ritchie at 16:14 in the second period, and Brantford got as close as 3-2 when Jack Phibbs scored 14:06 into the third period.

The Hurricanes' penalty kill excelled, as Guelph gave up one goal despite allowing six power plays.

The Hurricanes' offense rang up 38 shots on the 99ers' net.

Guelph was helped by Brody Milne, who racked up one goal. Milne scored 8:43 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Guelph. Cameron Stokes assisted on the tally. Corson Searles also scored for Guelph. More assists for Guelph came via Stefano Pezzetta, who had one.

Brantford's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Guelph power plays.
