Huge game by Garlent boosts Fort Erie over Pelham, 6-2Pelham Meridian CC Fri, Dec 11, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
Holden Garlent was all over the ice for the Fort Erie Meteors, as he tallied two goals and one assist in Fort Erie's 6-2 win over the Pelham Panthers. Garlent's tallies came at 7:11 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Fort Erie and on the power play 18:25 into the second to make the score 5-0 Fort Erie.The Meteors pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 24 penalty minutes. Pelham was unable to stop Fort Erie from sending pucks towards the net, and the Meteors eventually piled up 63 shots on goal. Fort Erie outdid its season average for goals scored. The Meteors average 3.4 goals per game. Fort Erie also got points from Ben Evans, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Manny Manns, who also tallied two goals and one assist. Fort Erie also got a goal from Garrett Jennings as well. Other players who recorded assists for Fort Erie were Anthony Passero, who had four. The Panthers' penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled seven minors and one major for 29 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 26.0 minutes per game Pelham had been spending in the box. The Panthers forced Fort Erie goalie Brayden Lachance to work between the pipes, taking 38 shots. Pelham was led by Caleb Mussat, who had one goal and one assist. Mussat scored on the power play 17:06 into the third period to make the score 6-2 Fort Erie. The Panthers had gained a power play chance when Evans was whistled for slashing. Riley Hollowell picked up the assist. Jeffrey Venzon also scored for Pelham. In addition, Pelham received assists from Liam Little and Zachary Plumb, who contributed one each. The Meteors' Lachance stopped 36 shots out of the 38 that he faced.
