Caledonia survives penalties, beats Ancaster, 5-2

The Caledonia Corvairs' penalty kill was superb, as Caledonia survived multiple penalties to beat the Ancaster Avalanche, 5-2.

The Corvairs were paced by Mitch Graham, who had one goal and one assist. Graham scored 11:37 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Caledonia. Matt Rimac assisted on the tally.

Caledonia's offense rang up 46 shots on Ancaster's net.

Caledonia also had goals scored by Mitchell Fitzmorris, who had two and Corey Pawley and Matthew Hore, who each put in one. In addition, Caledonia received assists from Quentin Maksimovich, who had two and Matt McCartney, Mark Sinclair, Chadd Bauman, Johnathon Schaefer, Jake Brown, and Todd Ratchford, who contributed one each.

The Avalanche kept the Corvairs' goalie busy throughout the game, and Sinclair made 30 saves on 32 shots.

Ancaster was helped by Owen Burnell, who grabbed one goal. Burnell scored 5:22 into the third period to make the score 2-2. Joshua Pace picked up the assist. Michael Pollice also scored for Ancaster. Other players who recorded assists for Ancaster were Fedor Gordeev, Ryan Knill, and Ryan Cox, who each chipped in one.

Caledonia incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Cole Ceci recorded 41 saves for the Avalanche. Ancaster incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
