Pelham rides Harvey to victory over Thorold, 2-1Pelham Meridian CC Fri, Dec 04, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
The Pelham Panthers relied on the sparkling performance of Stephen Harvey in net to grab a 2-1 win against the Thorold Blackhawks. Pelham's penalty kill excelled, as the Panthers gave up zero goals despite allowing seven power plays. Pelham was led by Adam Petric, who tallied one goal. Petric scored 12:56 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Pelham. Bryce Hoggard assisted on the tally. The Panthers stifled Thorold's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Pelham kept the Blackhawks' goalie busy throughout the game, and Fraser Kirk made 35 saves on 37 shots. Pelham also got points from Hoggard, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Pelham also got a goal from Caleb Mussat as well. More assists for Pelham came via Mitch Rossit, Martin Nowysz, and Jonah Noto, who contributed one each. Thorold put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Panthers to score on any of their four power plays. The Blackhawks' offense rang up 37 shots on Pelham's net. Thorold was led by Anthony Merante, who scored the team's only goal. Merante scored 19:57 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Pelham. Stephen Harvey made 36 saves for the Panthers on 37 shots. Pelham ended with 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major. The Panthers ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and London Murray was ejected from the game. The Blackhawks ended with 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major. For Thorold, Colin Farrell was ejected from the game.
