Leamington holds on for 5-3 win against London

The Leamington Flyers survived a determined comeback attempt by the London Nationals on the way to a 5-3 win.

Leamington made the score 5-2 on a goal by Mitchell Amante at 18:59 in the third period, and London got as close as 5-3 when Callum Ruddock scored 19:59 into the third period.

The Flyers stifled the Nationals' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. London was unable to stop Leamington from sending pucks towards the net, and the Flyers eventually piled up 37 shots on goal.

Leamington also had goals scored by Scott Emerson, Derek Elliott, and Liam Hogan, who each put in one. More assists for Leamington came via Tyler Scott, who had two and Nicolas Mainella, Zak Parlette, Joe Urbanic, and Cale Phibbs, who contributed one each.

The Nationals' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Leamington power plays. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

London was helped by Colin Wilson, who tallied one goal. Wilson scored 10:53 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Leamington. Max Vinogradov picked up the assist. Alex Cimino also scored for London. In addition, London received assists from Scott Goodman, Jordan Di Cicco, John Warren, and Trevor Dulong, who each chipped in one.

Tyler Wall recorded 22 saves for Leamington. The Flyers incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Connor Hughes made 32 saves for the Nationals on 36 shots. London incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors.
