The St. Thomas Stars relied on the sparkling performance of Nikolas Dampier in net to grab a 3-1 win against the Strathroy Rockets. St. Thomas was sparked by Cal Horvat, who had one goal and one assist. Horvat scored on the power play 5:04 into the second period to make the score 2-0 St. Thomas. The Stars had gotten the advantage when Strathroy's Steve Griggs was sent off for checking from behind. Eric Henderson assisted on the tally. St. Thomas stifled the Rockets' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Stars forced Strathroy goalie Mat Ouellet to work between the pipes, taking 38 shots. St. Thomas also got points from Ryan Valentini, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Adam Keyes also scored for St. Thomas. More assists for St. Thomas came via Curtis Ferreira and Carter McCormick, who contributed one each. St. Thomas was unable to stop the Rockets from sending pucks towards the net, and Strathroy eventually piled up 31 shots on goal. The Rockets were led by Jeff Williams, who scored the team's only goal. Williams scored 13:08 into the second period to make the score 2-1 St. Thomas. Codey McRoberts picked up the assist. Nikolas Dampier made 30 saves for the Stars on 31 shots. St. Thomas incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Ouellet recorded 35 saves for Strathroy. The Rockets incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. For Strathroy, Griggs was ejected from the game.
