Leamington blows out LaSalle, 4-1Leamington Kinsmen Recreation Thu, Nov 19, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
The Leamington Flyers were firing on all cylinders against the LaSalle Vipers, and when the final buzzer sounded Flyers emerged with a 4-1 win. Leamington pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 16 penalty minutes. The Flyers were led by Mitchell Amante, who racked up one goal. Amante scored on the power play 12:21 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Leamington. A tripping penalty on Manny Silverio had put Leamington on the power play. Zach Guilbeault picked up the assist. LaSalle was unable to stop the Flyers from sending pucks towards the net, and Leamington eventually piled up 46 shots on goal. Others who scored for Leamington included J.P. Grineau, Cale Phibbs, and Scott Emerson, who each put in one. In addition, Leamington received assists from Luke Sanko, who had two and Mark Gangnon and Scott Florence, who each chipped in one. The Vipers' offense operated below their season average. LaSalle averages 3.9 goals per game. The Vipers were led by Liam MacDougall, who scored the team's only goal. MacDougall scored on the power play 17:53 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Leamington. LaSalle earned a power play opportunity when Mitchell Crevatin was put in the box for high sticking. Blake Jones provided the assist. Tyler Wall made 17 saves for the Flyers on 18 shots. Leamington registered two goals on five power play opportunities. Eli Billing recorded 42 saves for the Vipers. LaSalle incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
