LaSalle rips St. Marys, 5-2

The St. Marys Lincolns had trouble finding ways to stop the LaSalle Vipers, which beat Lincolns, 5-2.

Tyler Russell had one goal and two assists to lead LaSalle. Russell scored on the power play 13:48 into the first period to make the score 1-0 LaSalle. The Vipers earned a power play opportunity when Colin Capstick was put in the box for checking from behind. Liam MacDougall picked up the assist.

LaSalle stifled St. Marys' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Vipers forced the Lincolns goalie Emanuel Vella to work between the pipes, taking 40 shots.

LaSalle additionally got points from Manny Silverio, who also grabbed one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. LaSalle also had goals scored by Nathan Savage, Nolan Gardiner, and Connor Rosaasen, who scored one goal each. In addition, LaSalle received assists from James Brooks and Blake Jones, who contributed one each.

St. Marys was helped by Brandon Glover, who had one goal. Glover scored 16:31 into the third period to make the score 4-2 LaSalle. Josh Zlatinszky provided the assist. St. Marys also got a goal from Nathan Smith as well. More assists for St. Marys came via Tom McHenry, who had one.

Paolo Battisti recorded 24 saves for LaSalle. The Vipers totaled 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 1-for-2 on the power play. LaSalle ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Nikko Sablone was ejected from the game. Emanuel Vella made 35 saves for the Lincolns on 40 shots. St. Marys totaled nine minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major and went 0-for-3 on the power play. Team's Capstick and Mike Tuffin were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
