St. Catharines outlasts Pelham, 4-3

In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the St. Catharines Falcons escaped with a 4-3 victory over the Pelham Panthers.

Neither team gained more than a one-goal lead, and Nicholas Dozzi's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker.

Dozzi was all over the ice for St. Catharines, as he registered two goals in the win.

The Falcons forced Pelham goalie Stephen Harvey to work between the pipes, taking 51 shots.

St. Catharines also had goals scored by Justin Felker and Ty Learn, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for St. Catharines were Jake Evans, who had two and Phillip Chadder, Tyler Jackson, Brandon Cercone, Brett Brooker, Brandon Vuic, and Tyler Hildebrandt, who contributed one each.

The Panthers were helped by Adam Petric, who registered one goal. Petric scored 2:30 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Pelham. Synee Coonishish picked up the assist. Others who scored for Pelham included Bryce Hoggard and Jesse Burger, who each put in one. In addition, Pelham received assists from London Murray and Riley Hollowell, who each chipped in one.

St. Catharines took out Cameron Gray after he had made one save and installed Joel Horodziejczyk in goal, where he finished with 16 saves and the win. The Falcons incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Stephen Harvey made 47 saves for Pelham on 51 shots. The Panthers incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
