St. Thomas downs St. Marys, 6-3

The St. Thomas Stars beat the St. Marys Lincolns, 6-3.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 9:59 into the second period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts.

St. Thomas' offense rang up 35 shots on St. Marys' net.

The Stars were led by Andrew Chambers, who finished with one goal and one assist. Chambers scored 1:50 into the second period to make the score 3-1 St. Thomas. Matt McJannet picked up the assist. St. Thomas additionally got points from Spencer Lapointe, who also registered one goal and one assist and Ryan Valentini, who also had one goal and one assist. Others who scored for St. Thomas included Spencer Hutchinson, Adam Keyes, and Ethan Nother, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for St. Thomas were Eric Henderson, who had two and Alex Turko, Adam Truax, Carson Brookshaw, and Cal Horvat, who contributed one each.

The Lincolns kept St. Thomas' goalie busy throughout the game, and Nikolas Dampier made 31 saves on 34 shots.

St. Marys was helped by Graham Brulotte, who racked up one goal. Brulotte scored 18:11 into the third period to make the score 5-3 St. Thomas. Brent House assisted on the tally. St. Marys also got points from Nolan King, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Phillip Buque also scored for St. Marys. In addition, St. Marys received assists from Tom McHenry and Ryan Martin, who each chipped in one.

The Stars totaled 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 0-for-2 on the power play. Team's McJannet and Gage Stephney were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game. Emanuel Vella made 29 saves for the Lincolns on 34 shots. St. Marys totaled 23 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 1-for-2 on the power play. The Lincolns ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Colin Capstick was ejected from the game.
