Brampton blows out Listowel, 5-1

The Listowel Cyclones had trouble finding ways to stop the Brampton Bombers, which beat Cyclones, 5-1.

Brampton was led by goalie Jason Rhynold, who finished with 25 saves while allowing one goal. Rhynold managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 3.93 prior to the game.

The Bombers' penalty kill excelled, as Brampton gave up one goal despite allowing seven power plays.

The Bombers' goal total was higher than their season average. Brampton averages 2.7 goals per game. The Bombers were forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as they racked up 24 penalty minutes.

Brampton was led by Jordan Oshowy, who finished with one goal and one assist. Oshowy scored 6:58 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Brampton. Yianni Liarakos picked up the assist. Brampton additionally got points from Ramon Lopez, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Patrick Zilak, who also registered one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Brampton included Adel Zivojevic and Carmine Vietri, who scored one goal each. More assists for Brampton came via Mitch Shennette, who had two and Joseph Spina and Nick Kiriakos, who contributed one each.

Listowel was held below its usual level of production. The Cyclones average 3.7 goals per game.

Listowel was led by Jamie Huber, who scored the team's only goal. Huber scored on the power play 12:40 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Brampton. A tripping penalty on Zilak had put the Cyclones on the power play. Ben Shelley assisted on the tally.

The Bombers registered one goal on six power play opportunities. Tyler Fassl rejected 25 shots on goal for Listowel. The Cyclones incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
