Huge game by Graham boosts Caledonia over Pelham, 10-1Pelham Meridian CC Fri, Nov 13, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
Mitch Graham was all over the ice for the Caledonia Corvairs, as he tallied one goal and three assists in Caledonia's 10-1 win over the Pelham Panthers. Graham scored on the power play 3:59 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Caledonia. A holding penalty on Spencer Comelli had put the Corvairs on the power play. Austin Brown assisted on the tally. Graham dished an assist on Mitchell Fitzmorris's goal that made the score 1-0 Caledonia at 1:06 into the second period. He then added assists on Brown's goal at 14:17 into the second and on Ryan Punkari's goal at 19:43 into the third.Caledonia's penalty kill excelled, as the Corvairs gave up zero goals despite allowing eight power plays. Caledonia racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with 10 minors and two majors for 60 minutes in penalty time. The Corvairs surpassed its season average of 35.0 penalty minutes per game. Caledonia stifled Pelham's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Corvairs kept the Panthers' goalie busy throughout the game, and Stephen Harvey made 49 saves on 59 shots. Caledonia surpassed its usual scoring output this season. The Corvairs average 6.0 goals per game. Caledonia also got points from Blake Luscombe, who also had three goals and two assists to lead the team in points, Brown, who also registered one goal and two assists, and Matthew Hore, who also finished with one goal and two assists. In addition, Caledonia received assists from Tait Seguin, who had one, Todd Ratchford, who had two, and Corey Pawley, who had four. Pelham forced its penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up 11 minors and two majors for 42 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 26.0 minutes per game the Panthers had been spending in the box. Zach Moore made 19 saves for Caledonia on 20 shots. The Corvairs registered one goal on nine power play opportunities. For Caledonia, Fitzmorris, Nick Zottl, Matt McCartney, and Quentin Maksimovich were ejected from the contest. Team's Comelli and Mitch Rossit were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
