Listowel wins tough contest against Brantford, 4-2Listowel Arena Fri, Nov 13, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
The game between the Listowel Cyclones and the Brantford 99ers was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Listowel emerged with a 4-2 win. The Cyclones gained the winning advantage on a goal by Max Coyle 2:23 into the second period and hung on until final buzzer. Listowel was led by Holdyn Lansink, who grabbed one goal. Lansink scored 14:14 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Listowel. Blake Pickering picked up the assist. The Cyclones' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Brantford power plays. Listowel forced Brantford goalie Tristan Lewis to work between the pipes, taking 42 shots. Listowel also got points from Brady Anderson, who also registered one goal and one assist. Jamie Huber also scored for Listowel. More assists for Listowel came via Tim Nauta, who had two and Keaton Willis, Caleb Warren, Jordan Caskenette, and Ben Shelley, who contributed one each. The 99ers excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. Brantford kept the Cyclones' goalie busy throughout the game, and Tyler Fassl made 32 saves on 34 shots. The 99ers were helped by Nick Visser, who racked up one goal. Visser scored 13:10 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Alec Tiley assisted on the tally. Brantford also got a goal from Guy Polillo as well. In addition, Brantford received assists from Jack Phibbs, who had one and Kyle Walker, who had two. Listowel incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Brantford's Lewis stopped 38 shots out of the 41 that he faced. The 99ers incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
