LaSalle downs Sarnia in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

The LaSalle Vipers' James Brooks scored 4:19 into overtime to beat the Sarnia Legionnaires, 3-2 (OT).

LaSalle was led by Brooks, who had one goal.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 13:40 into the second period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts.

The Vipers stifled Sarnia's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. LaSalle kept the Legionnaires' goalie busy throughout the game, and Aidan Hughes made 30 saves on 33 shots.

LaSalle also had goals scored by Eric Kirby and Blake Jones, who scored one goal each. More assists for LaSalle came via Manny Silverio, who had two and Liam MacDougall, Nathan Savage, Tyler Russell, and Dalton Langlois, who each chipped in one.

Sarnia forced the Vipers goalie Paolo Battisti to work between the pipes, taking 40 shots.

The Legionnaires were helped by Brandon Layman, who tallied one goal. Layman scored 9:14 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Sarnia. Jordan Fogarty picked up the assist. Sarnia also got a goal from Jarret Marks as well. In addition, Sarnia received assists from Ryan Vendramin, Hunter Tyczynski, and Brock Perry, who contributed one each.

LaSalle's Battisti stopped 38 shots out of the 40 that he faced. The Vipers totaled 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 2-for-7 on the power play. For LaSalle, Clay Kraynack was ejected from the game. Sarnia totaled 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 0-for-4 on the power play. The Legionnaires ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Ethan Dupont was ejected from the game.
