Huge game by Savage boosts LaSalle over Lambton Shores, 7-4

Nathan Savage had two goals and two assists to lead the LaSalle Vipers to a 7-4 victory over the Lambton Shores Predators.

Savage found the back of the net 5:59 into the second period to make the score 3-3 and again while 1:28 into the third to make the score 5-3 LaSalle.

LaSalle forced Lambton Shores goalie Anthony Hurtubise to work between the pipes, taking 52 shots. The Vipers surpassed their usual scoring output this season. LaSalle averages 4.0 goals per game.

LaSalle also got points from Liam MacDougall, who also registered one goal and one assist, Manny Silverio, who also finished with two goals and one assist, Connor Rosaasen, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, and Blake Jones, who also finished with one goal and two assists. In addition, LaSalle received assists from Matthew Doucette, James Brooks, Tyler Russell, Maddux Rychel, and Dalton Langlois, who contributed one each.

The Vipers were unable to stop the Predators from sending pucks towards the net, and Lambton Shores eventually piled up 31 shots on goal.

The Predators were led by Ethan Sarfati, who registered two goals. Sarfati scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 15:35 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Lambton Shores. Lambton Shores had gotten the advantage when LaSalle's Russell was sent off for high sticking. Brenden Trottier picked up the assist. Sarfati's next tally on the power play made the score 5-4 LaSalle with 14:53 left in the third period. A slashing penalty on Silverio had put the Predators on the power play. Ryan Fraser assisted on the tally. Lambton Shores also had goals scored by Carson Pearce and Sean Ross, who scored one goal each. More assists for Lambton Shores came via Franco Sproviero, who had two and Derrick Treppa and Colin Burns, who each chipped in one.

Eli Billing made 27 saves for the Vipers on 31 shots. LaSalle incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Hurtubise rejected 45 shots on goal for Lambton Shores. The Predators incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
