Strathroy falls to St. Marys in overtime, 5-4 (OT)Pyramid Recreation Centre Fri, Nov 06, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
The St. Marys Lincolns' Brent House scored 3:42 into overtime to beat the Strathroy Rockets, 5-4 (OT). St. Marys got the win with help from a great game by Graham Brulotte, who had two goals and one assist. Brulotte scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 16:39 into the first period to make the score 2-2. The Lincolns earned a power play opportunity when Matt McGhee was put in the box for interference. Nolan King assisted on the tally. Brulotte's next tally on the power play made the score 3-3 with 9:03 left in the second period. St. Marys had gotten the advantage when Strathroy's Shane Bulitka was sent off for slashing. House picked up the assist. The Lincolns pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 26 penalty minutes. St. Marys' offense rang up 37 shots on the Rockets' net. The Lincolns' goal total was higher than their season average. St. Marys has scored at the pace of 2.8 goals per game during the current campaign. St. Marys also got points from House, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Ryan Martin, who also registered one goal and one assist. Josh Zlatinszky also scored for St. Marys. More assists for St. Marys came via Brandon Glover, who had two and Jeff Schrattner and Nathan Smith, who contributed one each. Strathroy forced Lincolns' goaltenders to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, racking up 33 shots and forcing 29 saves. Kyle Morning made 20 stops and Paul Town made nine. Strathroy additionally got points from Dalton Good, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Riley O`Connell, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Strathroy also got a goal from Max Ewart as well. In addition, Strathroy received assists from Wesley Kelly and Lucas Latina, who each chipped in one. The Lincolns registered two goals on five power play opportunities. The Rockets' Dane Gubbels stopped 32 shots out of the 37 that he faced. Strathroy totaled 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major and went 1-for-6 on the power play. The Rockets ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and McGhee was ejected from the game.
