Brantford completes comeback, beats Brampton, 4-3

The Brampton Bombers could not hold down the Brantford 99ers, and 99ers erased a two-goal deficit en route to a 4-3 win.

Brantford let multiple leads slip away before eventually digging out of a two hole to pick up the win. The 99ers took a 3-2 advantage on a power play goal by Matt Scanlin at 5:37 in the third period. Brantford found itself down 2-0 after Brampton's Mike Rehding put the puck home at 3:39 in the second period. After tying things up at 3-3 on a goal by Yianni Liarakos at 14:05 in the third, the 99ers got the game-winner from Isaac Nurse at 15:30 in the third period.

Brantford put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Bombers to score on any of their four power plays. The 99ers' offense rang up 32 shots on Brampton's net. Brantford got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

Nick Visser also scored for Brantford. In addition, Brantford received assists from Justin Donnelly, Guy Polillo, Kyle Walker, and Matthew Woods, who each chipped in one and Christian Polillo and Sheenan Kirkwood, who contributed two each.

The Bombers' penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as Brampton finished with 24 penalty minutes.

More assists for Brampton came via Tayler Woolcott, Ramon Lopez, Jordan Oshowy, Brad Bollert, and Mitch Shennette, who each chipped in one.

The 99ers' Tristan Lewis stopped 24 shots out of the 27 that he faced. Brantford incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Jason Rhynold made 28 saves for the Bombers on 32 shots. For Brampton, Cameron Cruickshank was ejected from the game.
