The Guelph Hurricanes had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to an 8-4 win over the Listowel Cyclones.

Stefano Pezzetta was all over the ice for Guelph, as he had two goals in the win. Pezzetta scored at 1:45 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Guelph and again while 5:19 into the first to make the score 2-0 Guelph.

The Hurricanes forced Cyclones' goalies to work without much rest, finishing with 32 shots and forcing 24 saves. Wyatt Nicholson made 10 stops and Tyler Fassl made 14. Guelph put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Listowel to score on any of its four power plays. The Hurricanes found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. Guelph averages 3.9 goals per game.

Guelph additionally got points from Jesse Gunn APJ, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Corson Searles, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Alex Ritchie, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Brody Milne also scored for Guelph. In addition, Guelph received assists from Cameron Stokes, who had four, Chris Poletek and Christian Propp, who each chipped in one, and Noah Cameron and Quinn Hanna, who contributed two each.

The Hurricanes were unable to stop the Cyclones from sending pucks towards the net, and Listowel eventually piled up 43 shots on goal.

The Cyclones were led by Jamie Huber, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Huber scored 6:29 into the second period to make the score 3-3. Austin Huizenga provided the assist. Others who scored for Listowel included Blake Pickering, Jakob Lee, and Jordan Caskenette, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Listowel were Brady Anderson, Holdyn Lansink, Chayse Herrfort, and Ben Shelley, who each chipped in one.

Propp recorded 39 saves for Guelph. The Hurricanes incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Listowel incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
