Niagara Falls rolls over Pelham, 6-1

The Niagara Falls Canucks were firing on all cylinders against the Pelham Panthers, and when the final buzzer sounded Canucks emerged with a 6-1 win.

Niagara Falls was led by Matthew Marsden, who tallied one goal and one assist. Marsden scored 6:32 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Niagara Falls. Zack Lansfield picked up the assist.

The Canucks forced Panthers' netminders to work between the pipes, racking up 53 shots and forcing 47 saves. Corey Foster made 43 stops and Stephen Harvey made four. Niagara Falls' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Pelham power plays. The Canucks bested their season scoring average. Niagara Falls averages 3.1 goals per game. The Canucks' defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals. Niagara Falls could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 46 minutes in penalties during the game.

Niagara Falls additionally got points from Frank Pucci, who also finished with one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Niagara Falls included Matthew Baldinelli, who had two and Tanner Allen and Aviv Milner, who each put in one. In addition, Niagara Falls received assists from Kevin Boyd, Thomas Flack, Dillon Hill, and Cesare Caldaroni, who each chipped in one.

Pelham excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in eight chances. The Panthers found themselves stymied offensively, and got off a mere 14 shots against the Canucks' defense. Pelham could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 52 minutes in penalties during the game.

Pelham also got a goal from Jesse Burger as well.

Adam Dentico made 13 saves for Niagara Falls on 14 shots. The Canucks ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Allen was ejected from the game. For the Panthers, Brandon MacKinnon was ejected from the game.
