Brampton rides Rhynold to victory over Cambridge, 2-1

Jason Rhynold stood on his head and made 37 saves to lead the Brampton Bombers to a 2-1 victory over the Cambridge Winter Hawks.

Brampton was sparked by Jordan Oshowy, who racked up one goal. Oshowy scored 19:17 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Brampton. Yianni Liarakos assisted on the tally.

The Bombers forced Winter Hawks' goalies to work in net, firing 36 shots and forcing 34 saves. Hayden Padalino made seven stops and Owen Savory made 27. Brampton stifled Cambridge's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Tayler Woolcott also scored for Brampton. More assists for Brampton came via Wyatt Weppler, who had one.

The Winter Hawks excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Cambridge's offense rang up 38 shots on the Bombers' net.

The Winter Hawks were led by Scott Del Zotto, who scored the team's only goal. Del Zotto scored 15:52 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Cambridge. Jake Beard picked up the assist.

Brampton incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. For the Bombers, Nick Kiriakos was ejected from the game. Cambridge incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
