The London Nationals gutted out a close 3-2 win against the Strathroy Rockets. Neither team gained more than a one-goal lead, and Scott Dorion's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker. London was led by Dorion, who had one goal. Dorion scored 7:39 into the third period to make the score 3-2 London. Rai Di Loreto assisted on the tally. The Nationals excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. London's offense rang up 31 shots on Strathroy's net. London also got points from Scott Goodman, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Matt Bean also scored for London. In addition, London received assists from Callum Ruddock and Kyle Robinson, who each chipped in one. The Rockets' penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as Strathroy finished with 27 penalty minutes. The Rockets were helped by Lucas Latina, who tallied one goal. Latina scored 11:02 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Strathroy. Nick Griffin picked up the assist. Strathroy also got a goal from Wesley Kelly as well. Other players who recorded assists for Strathroy were Matt Laberge, Max Ewart, and Matt McGhee, who contributed one each. Connor Hughes made 26 saves for the Nationals on 28 shots. London totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 1-for-4 on the power play. For the Nationals, Tanner Ferreira was ejected from the game. Mat Ouellet rejected 28 shots on goal for Strathroy. The Rockets ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Dalton Good was ejected from the game.
