Niagara Falls downs Fort Erie in overtime, 5-4 (OT)

Zack Lansfield gave the Niagara Falls Canucks a 5-4 (OT) victory over the Fort Erie Meteors when he scored 15:09 into the extra period.

Niagara Falls' penalty kill excelled, as the Canucks gave up one goal despite allowing seven power plays.

In the losing effort, Fort Erie was led by Anthony Passero, who racked up two goals and one assist. Passero scored the first of his two goals at 9:11 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Holden Garlent picked up the assist. Passero's next tally made the score 4-4 with 16:53 left in the third period. Ben Evans assisted on the tally.

Niagara Falls forced the Meteors goalie Riley Daniels to work between the pipes, taking 35 shots.

The Canucks were led by Frank Pucci, who had one goal and one assist. Pucci scored nine seconds into to make the score 6-4 Niagara Falls. Niagara Falls also got points from Thomas Flack, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Lansfield, who also registered one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Niagara Falls included Evan Denley, Luke Laurin, and Matthew Marsden, who each put in one. In addition, Niagara Falls received assists from Peter Falivena, who had two and Kevin Boyd, Aviv Milner, and Cristian DiFonzo, who each chipped in one.

Fort Erie was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 38 penalty minutes.

Fort Erie additionally got points from Evans, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Declan Conway also scored for Fort Erie. More assists for Fort Erie came via Alex Hurran, Vincent Robbins, and Garrett Jennings, who contributed one each.

Adam Dentico made 25 saves for Niagara Falls on 29 shots. The Canucks incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Daniels recorded 30 saves for the Meteors. For Fort Erie, Anthony Cybulski and Robbins were ejected from the contest.
