Listowel rolls over Waterloo, 6-1

The Listowel Cyclones were firing on all cylinders against the Waterloo Siskins, and when the final buzzer sounded Cyclones emerged with a 6-1 win.

Listowel got the win behind a great game by Jamie Huber, who had one goal and two assists. Huber scored 8:28 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Listowel. Brady Anderson picked up the assist.

The Cyclones' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Waterloo power plays. Listowel surpassed its usual scoring output this season. The Cyclones have scored at the pace of 3.9 goals per game during the current campaign.

Listowel additionally got points from Austin Huizenga, who also registered one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Listowel included Tim Nauta, who had two and Jakob Lee and Caleb Warren, who each put in one. More assists for Listowel came via Robert White, Blake Pickering, Garrett James, Holdyn Lansink, and Ben Shelley, who contributed one each.

Waterloo kept Listowel's goalie busy throughout the game, and Tyler Fassl made 32 saves on 33 shots. The Siskins were hit hard by penalties in the contest, and totaled seven minors and one major for 29 minutes in penalty time.

Waterloo was led by Connor Bodnar, who scored the team's only goal. Bodnar scored 14:28 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Listowel. Brett Wilson assisted on the tally.

The Cyclones incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Mitchell Datz recorded 24 saves for the Siskins. For Waterloo, Bodnar was ejected from the game.
