The Caledonia Corvairs survived a determined comeback attempt by the Niagara Falls Canucks on the way to a 7-5 win. A goal by Matt Rimac put Caledonia up 7-4 in the third period, but Niagara Falls pulled to within two on Peter Falivena's tally 15:16 into the third period. The Corvairs got the win behind a great game by Jake Brown, who had two goals and one assist. Brown scored the first of his two goals at 4:00 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Caledonia. Matthew Hore assisted on the tally. Brown's next tally made the score 5-4 Caledonia with 14:57 left in the third period. Corey Pawley picked up the assist. Caledonia forced the Canucks goalie Joseph Murdaca to work between the pipes, taking 40 shots. The Corvairs gave up more goals than its normal season average. Caledonia is averaging 2.1 goals against for the season. Caledonia additionally got points from Blake Luscombe, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Caledonia also had goals scored by Mackenzie MacSorley, Matt McCartney, and Quentin Maksimovich, who scored one goal each. In addition, Caledonia received assists from Austin Brown, who had three and Mitch Graham, Ryan Punkari, Tait Seguin, and Todd Ratchford, who each chipped in one. Niagara Falls outdid its season average for goals scored. This season, the Canucks average 2.7 goals per contest. Niagara Falls also got points from Thomas Flack, who also racked up one goal and two assists, Matthew Baldinelli, who also had one goal and one assist, and Zack Lansfield, who also registered one goal and one assist. Niagara Falls also got a goal from Luke Laurin as well. More assists for Niagara Falls came via Sean Farquharson, who had two and Frank Pucci and Matthew Marsden, who contributed one each. Zach Moore rejected 19 shots on goal for the Corvairs. Caledonia incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Niagara Falls' Murdaca stopped 33 shots out of the 40 that he faced. The Canucks incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
