Ben Hughes lifted the Ancaster Avalanche to a 7-3 victory with a hat trick against the Pelham Panthers. Hughes' first goal came 14:20 into the first period. He then added goals at 16:08 into the first and at 17:43 into the second.Ancaster's offense rang up 65 shots on Pelham's net. The Avalanche surpassed their usual scoring output this season. Ancaster averages 4.7 goals per game. Ancaster also got points from Matt Mannella, who also grabbed one goal and two assists, Owen Burnell, who also racked up one goal and four assists to lead the team in points, and Ryan Cox, who also registered two goals and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Ancaster were Max Balinson, Fedor Gordeev, and Ryan Knill, who contributed one each. The Panthers kept the Avalanche's goalie busy throughout the game, and Cole Ceci made 32 saves on 35 shots. Pelham was led by Brandon MacKinnon, who had one goal and one assist. MacKinnon scored on the power play 4:39 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Ancaster. The Panthers had gotten the advantage when Ancaster's Joshua Pace was sent off for slashing. Zach Anderson picked up the assist. Pelham also had goals scored by Jesse Burger and Synee Coonishish, who each put in one. More assists for Pelham came via Dylan Cancilla, Alexander Hester, Adam Petric, and Hunter Swain, who each chipped in one. The Avalanche incurred 28 minutes in penalty time with four minors. Stephen Harvey made 58 saves for Pelham on 65 shots. The Panthers incurred 32 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
