Fort Erie wins tough contest against Niagara Falls, 4-2Gale Centre Fri, Oct 02, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
The game between the Fort Erie Meteors and the Niagara Falls Canucks was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Fort Erie emerged with a 4-2 win. The Meteors gained the winning advantage on a goal by Alex Hurran 8:26 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer. Fort Erie was led by Hurran, who grabbed one goal. The Meteors put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Niagara Falls to score on any of its five power plays. Fort Erie forced the Canucks goalie Adam Dentico to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots. Fort Erie also got points from Anthony Passero, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Holden Garlent, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Fort Erie also got a goal from Colin Farrell as well. More assists for Fort Erie came via Anthony Cybulski, Danial Singer, and Declan Conway`, who each chipped in one. Niagara Falls' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Fort Erie power plays. The Canucks kept the Meteors' goalie busy throughout the game, and Riley Daniels made 30 saves on 32 shots. Niagara Falls was helped by Luke Laurin, who had one goal. Laurin scored 45 seconds into the third period to make the score 2-2. Thomas Flack assisted on the tally. Peter Falivena also scored for Niagara Falls. Other players who recorded assists for Niagara Falls were Sean Farquharson, who had two. Fort Erie incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. For the Meteors, Conway` was ejected from the game. Adam Dentico made 27 saves for the Canucks on 30 shots. Niagara Falls ended with 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major. The Canucks ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Andrew Brown was ejected from the game.
