The St. Thomas Stars and the LaSalle Vipers skate to 6-6 (OT) tie

Behind four goals from Eric Kirby and zero goals and four assists from Nolan Gardiner, LaSalle tied St. Thomas.

The Stars forced the Vipers goalie Eli Billing to work between the pipes, taking 53 shots.

St. Thomas was led by Carson Brookshaw, who tallied two goals and one assist. Brookshaw scored the first of his two goals at 32 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 St. Thomas. Matt McJannet provided the assist. Brookshaw's next tally made the score 2-1 St. Thomas with 5:25 left in the first period. McJannet picked up the assist. St. Thomas also had goals scored by Carson Moniz, who had two and Adam Truax and Andrew Chambers, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for St. Thomas were Ryan Valentini, who had two and James Newland, Alex Turko, Jesse Anderson, and Gage Stephney, who each chipped in one.

The Stars were unable to stop LaSalle from sending pucks towards the net, and the Vipers eventually piled up 39 shots on goal. LaSalle bested its season scoring average. This season, the Vipers average 3.9 goals per contest.

Others who scored for LaSalle included Liam MacDougall and Manny Silverio, who each put in one. More assists for LaSalle came via James Brooks, who had three and Clay Kraynack, Nathan Savage, Tyler Russell, and Blake Jones, who contributed one each.

Nikolas Dampier made 33 saves for St. Thomas on 39 shots. The Stars avoided the penalty box for the entire game and scored one goal off of five power plays. Billing recorded 47 saves for LaSalle. The Vipers incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors and had no power play opportunities.
