London outlasts LaSalle, 3-2

The London Nationals gutted out a close 3-2 win against the LaSalle Vipers.

Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and John Warren secured the win for London with a goal in the third period.

LaSalle's power play was ineffective against the Nationals' penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded.

London was sparked by Warren, who had one goal. Warren scored 1:02 into the third period to make the score 3-2 London. Scott Goodman assisted on the tally.

The Nationals' offense rang up 46 shots on the Vipers' net.

London also got points from Tanner Ferreira, who also registered one goal and one assist. Max Vinogradov also scored for London. More assists for London came via Kyle Robinson, who had two and Kevin Madden and Austin Kemp, who each chipped in one.

LaSalle's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six London power plays. London was unable to stop the Vipers from sending pucks towards the net, and LaSalle eventually piled up 34 shots on goal.

The Vipers were led by Nolan Gardiner, who finished with one goal and one assist. Gardiner scored 13:10 into the first period to make the score 2-1 London. Zack Hoffman picked up the assist. LaSalle also got a goal from Eric Kirby as well. In addition, LaSalle received assists from Connor Matton and Brett Banwell, who contributed one each.

Connor Hughes rejected 32 shots on goal for the Nationals. London incurred 24 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. LaSalle's Paolo Battisti stopped 43 shots out of the 46 that he faced. The Vipers incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
