Hore's hat trick boosts Caledonia over Fort Erie, 12-1

Matthew Hore lifted the Caledonia Corvairs to a 12-1 victory with a hat trick against the Fort Erie Meteors.

Hore got on the scoresheet 1:37 into the first period. He then added goals at 17:05 into the first and at 17:35 into the third.

Caledonia led 7-0 after the opening frame the first period and maintained a healthy margin after.

The Corvairs forced Fort Erie's netminders to work between the pipes, racking up 50 shots and forcing 38 saves. Brayden Lachance made seven stops and Riley Daniels made 31. Caledonia put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Meteors to score on any of their five power plays. The Corvairs outdid their season average for goals scored. Caledonia has scored at the pace of 5.8 goals per game during the current campaign. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

Caledonia also got points from Mitch Graham, who also had one goal and one assist, Corey Pawley, who also racked up three goals and four assists, and Jake Brown, who also registered three goals and two assists. Caledonia also had goals scored by Austin Brown and JC Thivierge, who each put in one. In addition, Caledonia received assists from Blake Luscombe, who had three, Scott Dorion, Mackenzie MacSorley, Matt Rimac, Jonathan Pace, and Todd Ratchford, who contributed one each, and Ryan Moran and Jordan Brown, who each chipped in two.

Fort Erie's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Caledonia power plays. The Meteors' offense operated below their season average. Fort Erie puts an average of 3.3 pucks into the net per game.

Fort Erie also got a goal from Colin Farrell as well. Other players who recorded assists for Fort Erie were Frankie Franck and Vincent Robbins, who contributed one each.

Mark Sinclair made 21 saves for the Corvairs on 22 shots. Caledonia incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Meteors incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
