Strathroy outlasts Lambton Shores, 4-3

In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Strathroy Rockets escaped with a 4-3 victory over the Lambton Shores Predators.

No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Kieran Milne at 7:05 of the second period.

Strathroy kept Lambton Shores' goalie busy throughout the game, and Tyler Caruana made 41 saves on 45 shots.

The Rockets were helped by Lucas Latina, who had two goals. Latina scored the first of his two goals at 2:11 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Strathroy. Riley O`Connell assisted on the tally. Latina's next tally made the score 4-2 Strathroy with 5:01 left in the second period. Strathroy had gained a power play chance when Ryan Fraser was whistled for head contact. Evan Hogg picked up the assist. Strathroy additionally got points from Milne, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Strathroy also got a goal from Shane Bulitka as well. More assists for Strathroy came via Noah Tooke, who had one.

The Predators' offense rang up 37 shots on the Rockets' net. Lambton Shores' penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as the Predators finished with 38 penalty minutes.

Lambton Shores was led by Ethan Sarfati, who registered two goals and two assists. Sarfati scored the first of his two goals at 16:40 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Lambton Shores. Sarfati's next tally made the score 4-3 Strathroy with 2:08 left in the second period. Sean Ross assisted on the tally. David Norris also scored for Lambton Shores. Other players who recorded assists for Lambton Shores were Connor Merritt, Marcel Berube, and Colin Burns, who each chipped in one.

Strathroy's Dane Gubbels stopped 34 shots out of the 37 that he faced. The Rockets incurred 24 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. The Predators registered one goal on four power play opportunities.
