Kitchener rolls over Waterloo, 4-1

The Kitchener Dutchmen were firing on all cylinders against the Waterloo Siskins, and when the final buzzer sounded Dutchmen emerged with a 4-1 win.

Waterloo's power play was ineffective against Kitchener's penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded.

The Dutchmen were sparked by Ryan George, who grabbed one goal. George scored 5:58 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Kitchener. Nathan Grossi assisted on the tally.

Kitchener struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 38 penalty minutes for eight opposing power plays.

Kitchener additionally got points from Grossi, who also registered one goal and one assist. Kitchener also got a goal from Edward Pollon as well. More assists for Kitchener came via Matthew Cruickshank, Austin Gaboury, and Jason Willms, who each chipped in one and JD Sterne and Taite Wirschke, who contributed two each.

The Siskins were led by Nate Schnarr, who scored the team's only goal. Schnarr scored on the power play 5:50 into the third period to make the score 4-1 Kitchener. Waterloo had taken the advantage when the Dutchmen's Cruickshank got sent off for tripping. Mitchell Rooney picked up the assist.

Kitchener's Luke Richardson stopped 16 shots out of the 17 that he faced. The Dutchmen registered one goal on four power play opportunities. Mitchell Datz made 26 saves for the Siskins on 30 shots. Waterloo incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
