St. Marys erases deficit to stun Lambton Shores, 4-3

The St. Marys Lincolns climbed out of a two-goal hole to beat the Lambton Shores Predators, 4-3.

St. Marys never led in the game until netting the game winner. The Lincolns trailed 2-0 after a goal by Lambton Shores' David Norris at 2:23 in the first period. St. Marys tied things up at 3-3 on a goal by Brent House at 18:36 in the first period. The Lincolns netted the game winner at 14:57 in the third period on a goal by House.

St. Marys got the win thanks to a great game by House, who had two goals and one assist.

The Lincolns managed to stay out of the box better than usual, tallying one minor for two minutes in penalty time. St. Marys finished below its season average of 12.0 penalty minutes per game.

St. Marys additionally got points from Graham Brulotte, who also tallied one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Mike Tuffin also scored for St. Marys. In addition, St. Marys received assists from Nolan King, who had three and Brennan Stapleton and Robert Clifford, who contributed one each.

The Predators' offense rang up 38 shots on the Lincolns' net.

Lambton Shores was helped by Brenden Trottier, who finished with one goal and one assist. Trottier scored 1:49 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Lambton Shores. Ethan Sarfati picked up the assist. Lambton Shores also got points from Andrew Kim, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. More assists for Lambton Shores came via Ben Woo and Vaughn Treppa, who each chipped in one.

Ryan Langford made 35 saves for St. Marys on 38 shots. The Lincolns registered zero goals on two power play opportunities. Anthony Hurtubise rejected 26 shots on goal for the Predators. Lambton Shores incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
